Ugh, I really shouldn't be trying to make things easier for myself... it's all going to backfire anyway. Perhaps art school and I were never meant to be...

Well, even if I do drop out of high school there's always a chance I can do what I want to do... Zhang Jingna/Zemotion has proven that your educational background means very little if you have talent. Talent... which I still need to find. OTL

If you're on LJ, feel free to add me: I'm citrusbreakdown. I post art on citric_art and graphics on citric_icons.

If you're on Tumblr, go ahead and add hanatori. The citrusbreakdown on there isn't me. It's someone I know who took my name without asking.... >_>;; Happens a lot.

And... Twitter is the same as Tumblr. Hanatori.
And of course, my deviantART is tsuikai. I might change to citrusbreakdown, but I'm not sure yet.

Aaaanyway...

I'm rushing it, but chances are, I'll wake up at 9:00PM, go to dinner, and then miss the chance to post in time.

Done... at least, enough to call it so. Lost a lot of steam near the end... shame. Still, pretty interesting how it turned out from start to finish.

Okay, so I lied. I'm so not close to being done. It's getting there though. I changed up the position of the hands since it was really boring and the foreshortening was wonky in the first place. I did a lot of cleanup; this step isn't necessary if you're really neat from the beginning, but of course I wasn't, so I spent a while getting rid of stray lines and strokes.

I'll be working on this in Digital Imaging class tomorrow, so maybe I'll be done then. It looks so flat... urgh. My teacher might throw up a little. >_>;;

I hope I'm not ODing the WIP posts... I find this really fun, learning how a picture of mine progresses. Someone out there might be the same...

It's always good to step back, take a break, and come back to whatever you're painting. It allows you to assess the work in a more objective manner. As you can see, I've changed Hans' face quite drastically. Don't ever be afraid to rework your piece. If something is wrong, change it. If the hair's drawn to perfection and the face screwed to all hell and back, go over the face on a separate layer and start all over. Don't look at the sketch, and don't be a wuss. All my sketches are extremely rough, and only serve as guidelines. My final products always end up extremely different from the sketches. It just sucks for me because I should really have a clear vision before starting a piece and having to start a section over because of awkward positioning or anatomy.

Anyway... stay tuned. Miiiight be able to finish today.
